I enjoyed this piece, ''CATS Writing Portfolios: Tying Teachers' Hands''. Your analysis is right on the mark and I encourage you to continue digging into Kentucky's education system in general and CATS in particular. While our State has made strides and should get an 'E' for effort, they are not focusing enough on the basics. By basics I mean both the core subjects of reading, writing, math and science as well as freeing teachers of administrative burdens and allowing them to concentrate on instruction. In my opinion Russellville Independent Schools seems to be on the right track and I wish them well.
