WHAS podcast featuring BIPPS on Jefferson County Schools

This morning on WHAS, Mandy Connell spent a significant amount of time discussing recent comments by the Kentucky Department of Education claiming that there was “academic genocide” occurring in Jefferson County Public Schools.

In the first hour of the show, Connell reads an email from Bluegrass Institute education analyst Richard Innes (begins around the 17 minute mark in the podcast below):

In the next hour, Jim Waters joined Connell for Bluegrass Mondays and the two further discussed the JCPS situation.

and a follow-on discussion here.

Surprise: Jefferson County Public Schools management is chaotic

Apparently, the expensive audit that the Jefferson County Board of Education commissioned to find problems in their school system didn’t have any difficulty finding some.

WAVE-3 reports:

“The question right now for JCPS – who is in charge?”

“The audit found that some people are in charge of too many while in interviews other employees told them they have no supervisor at all.”

Good Grief!

Maybe it is time to break up this behemoth school district that absolutely seems to defy efficient management.
