Kentucky’s Economic Development Secretary John Hindman is in for a quarter-million dollar soft landing from his full-time job, which he will now perform part-time as a “consultant” while maintaining his $250,000 state salary for one year.
It gets better.
Governor’s Cabinet Secretary Larry Hayes will take control of the state’s corporate giveaway program as Hindman starts consulting. And he has a plan for building the economy for us. From the press release:
““The governor believes – and I agree – that we should take some time to evaluate all the good things we are doing in economic development, while also assessing areas where we can improve as we seek to build a stronger, more sustainable economy for Kentucky’s future,” Hayes said.”
I’d love to know what their criteria are for evaluating “all the good things” they are doing as they “seek to build a more sustainable economy.”
In a sane world, the idea that bureaucrats in Frankfort are building the economy would be widely regarded as a joke.
