Rick LoghryBoard Member Rick Loghry is a member of the board of directors of the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions.
Loghry is the founder and President of Actions Speak LLC, a Versailles firm, focused on providing executive level assessment and problem solving approaches for eliminating barriers to better performance.
Loghry has extensive leadership experience in implementing change to improve operations and to enhance an organization’s competitive position. His resume includes:
- President of Mason & Hanger Corporation from 1992 to 1999. Mason & Hanger was a technically oriented defense contractor and engineering organization with 5,000 employees and subsidiary operations. The company earned record profits before being acquired.
- President of American Ordnance LLC, a jointly formed LLC with General Dynamics Corporation, established to streamline operations of two major defense plants encompassing 1,800 people and guaranteeing reduced costs on all products over a five-year period.
- General Manager of a Department of Energy nuclear facility employing 3,300 people. Transitioning operations necessitated major changes in management approach, information systems, metrics, and personnel accountability.
- Plant Manger at a conventional ammunition facility needing rapid changes to reduce costs, improve quality, and restructure operations to stop movements to close the plant.
Loghry lives on a farm in Woodford County with his wife Karen. They have two children and 4 grandchildren that enjoy experiencing the unique aspects of farm life. He has a bachelor’s degree in science and a MBA from Rollins College.
