Dawn CloydBoard Member Dawn Cloyd is a member of the board of directors of the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions.
Cloyd works as director of international sales and inside domestic sales at Lexington-based THIEL Audio, where she also participates in the evaluation and development of new business and working with existing accounts.
She also is responsible for developing, coordinating and organizing factory training and certification for dealers and distributors, which quadrupled in participation after she took over this function. Cloyd also assists company president Kathy Gornik, with whom she works closely in the company and in her industry association volunteer work at the Consumer Electronics Association. In the past, Cloyd has worked for THIEL as sales coordinator and human-resources associate.
Prior to joining THIEL, Cloyd taught high school for two years in Ohio and taught English as a second language to immigrants in San Jose, Calif., after earning her bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from the University of Dayton, her master’s degree in education from John Carroll University and her Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Certification from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
As a volunteer, Cloyd has served organizations, including: the Coalition Against a Government Takeover of the Water Company, Americans for Fair Taxation, Newton’s Attic and the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions.
She lives in Lexington with her husband, Bill, and in her spare time enjoys travel, reading and rollerblading.
