The Erosion of Character

The Erosion of Character: Without character, I don’t see how any free society can either come into being or certainly survive.” – Lawrence Reed

Back in August when we kicked off our 1792 campaign, Lawrence Reed came to speak at a dinner we held in Louisville. This quote really stood out to me. Enjoy.

Our questions for the V.P. candidates

When it was announced that the Vice Presidential debate for this election cycle would be held at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, we at the Bluegrass Institute immediately began day-dreaming about being able to craft the questions that would be asked of the candidates.

Here are the questions WE would ask if given the opportunity:

1 – What do you see as the proper role of the EPA with regards to Kentucky’s energy sector, including coal and natural gas?

2 – The president instituted the Race To The Top program and Kentucky was not awarded education funds due in large part to an absence in charter school legislation. What role do you see school choice playing in the future of education reform and innovation?

2 – The national debt is a hot topic these days. Kentucky’s state debt alone is $44 billion. What do you see as the single most important action to be taken toward substantial debt reduction?

Jim Waters spoke in Danville the morning of the debate to present the questions we wanted to ask. You can watch his remarks in the video above.
