Bluegrass Audio: Radio commentaries promote liberty on KNN

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) — The Bluegrass Institute and the Kentucky News Network have
joined to make “Bluegrass Audio,” a weekly 90-second radio commentary on the virtues
of liberty, available to radio stations throughout the commonwealth.

Today’s commentary – the first in the “Bluegrass Audio” series – addresses the question:
“Where does liberty come from?”

“The Kentucky News Network is pleased to provide new audio content for our more than
90 affiliates statewide,” said Nathan Butler, KNN’s director of operations. “The
commentaries from the Bluegrass Institute will allow stations who air the program a new
feature with timely content, opinions and stories, while at the same time creating a portal
for listener response.”

The audio commentaries will be made available to the 99 KNN stations on the network’s
Web site for affiliates and are being produced at KNN affiliate WKCT-AM in Bowling
Green. A version allowing stations to imbed a commercial or promotional announcement
will be included. Scripts of each broadcast also will be available for radio stations to post
on Web sites.

In “Where doesliberty come from,” listeners will hear Jim Waters, the institute’s director
of policy and communications, offer this perspective: “The secret of the greatness of our
founders was that they recognized themselves as the guardians, not givers, of liberty.”

Waters puts his extensive experience as a radio news anchor and talk show host to
work as the voice of the Bluegrass Audio.

“The Bluegrass Institute is pleased to present a new audio perspective to the Kentucky
News Network,” said Chris Derry, the institute’s founder and president. “With Jim at the
mic, this new series will embolden those listeners who want Kentucky to become a more
prosperous place to live and work.”
